Welcome to part 3 (of 5) of the BleedIO Tech origin story. For those of you just joining us, we are reviewing the origin story that led to the development of our netMESH product, a first of its kind SaaS designed to maximize your IoT. netMESH was built with an integrator (Mike) and designed to solve technical challenges related to working with, and implementing, the new BLE Mesh standard.
With the time required to provision devices, and the complexities of existing products designed to “assist” in this area, Mike came to BleedIO for a solution that would make working with the new Mesh standard, “worth it”. Mike also knew that, post provisioning, device interoperability was the ultimate goal, adding another consideration for the BleedIO team.
Not long after the initial meeting the netMESH prototype was built for Mike and his team of integrators to test. Recall Mike’s challenges with time to provision, and the related complexities of current products. Mike asked his team to test the prototype and compare the outcomes against the prior approaches.
The results were encouraging, to say the least. A study of time required for provisioning demonstrated what required eight hours to do using Mike’s initial approach and the related tools and products, was cut to one hour, using the netMESH product. Accomplishing in one hour, what had recently required eight hours, was a huge win for Mike, and his business. However, the most impressive testament to netMESH, and the value it creates, came from Mike’s team. When asked if they would give up netMESH and go back to their previous approach, the team was united in its answer, and preference, to use netMESH going forward.
In part 4, with provisioning challenges behind them, learn how Mike and team were able to bring the full value of the BLE Mesh standard to his customer.
